When an enforcement officer encounters a scofflaw, IPS automatically alerts them. The officer can then deploy a Barnacle, and IPS immediately notes that the vehicle has been immobilized. Once the motorist pays through Barnacle, the tickets are automatically updated in IPS, eliminating the need for any manual follow-up.
